Sonoma wine tasting discounts are hard to find these days. Wine tasting rooms now focus on turning a profit or at least not losing money. That means higher tasting fees. It also means, almost no wine tasting discounts to be found in Sonoma wine country. Because we believe everyone should enjoy wine country, we put together a discounted tasting plan.
Our partners at the Priority Wine Pass negotiated great wine tasting discounts with top Sonoma wineries. This plan will save you close to $100 in a single day of wine tasting in Sonoma's wine country. You can use that to buy a few bottles to bring home, or save it for your next trip!
We realize Sonoma's wine country is large and diverse. Our Sonoma wine tasting discounts are available from the town of Sonoma in the south all the way to Healdsburg in the north. This tasting itinerary will bring you to many of the beautiful towns and through the idyllic countryside of Sonoma.
Before we get started, a few important reminders about wine tasting tours. First off, you should have a designated driver or hire a car service. Second, you need to pace yourself. Enjoy the wine and don't rush through it to get to the next winery. Finally, make time to eat. Wine tasting on an empty stomach can be a disaster.
Now that we got that out of the way, here is our plan for a Sonoma wine tasting at a discount.
You will start your journey at the southern end of Sonoma county.
Cline Cellars (Save $15 on the Reserve Seated Tasting)
Cline is a great place to start your Sonoma wine tasting adventure. The winery and vineyards are located in Carneros. This is the southernmost section of Sonoma's wine country. The family owned winery is famous for their Rhone style wines and their zinfandel. You should also try their dessert wine if you are a fan of sweet wines. This pairs nicely with chocolate.
The tasting room is popular because they offer free tastings of their nonreserve wines, but the reserve tasting through your Priority Wine Pass is scheduled, so you don't have to fight any crowds.
After your tasting, stroll around the grounds. Watch the fish swimming in their lake and listen to the donkeys. They have a large property, so this is a great place to stretch your legs. Your Sonoma wine tasting experience has begun!
Schug Winery (Save $10 with a 2 for 1 tasting)
Schug winery is also located in the Carneros region. Located five miles south of the historic town of Sonoma, Schug Winery sits nestled into a hillside surrounded by vines. This winery was founded by one of California's foremost Pinot Noir experts Walter Schug. Walter was a true American success story. After immigrating from his native Germany, Walter found tremendous success in the growing California wine industry. The winery is now run by his family and his longtime winemaking partner.
The cozy tasting room offers great service and access to some of the best Pinot Noir in the region.
McEvoy Ranch (Save $30 on a 2 for 1 table tasting)
Our next stop is in the town of Petaluma. This is rustic wine tasting spot is what you dream of. Surrounded by beautiful vineyards and olive groves, the ranch is our next stop on your discount wine tasting tour of Sonoma. Nan McEvoy was a lover of Tuscan cuisine and olive oils. She founded the ranch to produce her own. Grapes were a natural extension for her.
Enjoy a seated tasting. The winery features red blends, Pinot Noir, Rose and even a Sangiovese. The tasting is by appointment and is available from Wednesday through Sunday.
You can use your time here to stock up on olive oil and other culinary delights.
B Wise Vineyards (Save $20 on a 2 for 1 tasting)
Now we move on to Kenwood where Brian Wise purchased 100 acres in Moon Mountain in 2001. He was drawn to the undeveloped property that had been an old stone quarry at the turn of the century because of its proximity to the iconic Monte Rosso vineyard. The twenty-one acres of vineyard are planted at an elevation of 700 feet in red volcanic ash which gives the cabernet sauvignon a fresh, vital quality with bright aromas of dark red fruits and minerality.
The tasting room in Kenwood is a modern lounge with a bar, tables, and couches but the real treat is to book a private tasting in the Cellar Reserve Room at the vineyard. This is the stop on our tour where you can start loading up your car with Cab! They also have a nice selection of Pinot Noir.
St. Francis Winery (Save $10 on tasting and 15% off wine purchase)
You will continue your discount wine tasting tour of Sonoma wine country in the city of Santa Rosa. Picture perfect grounds, impeccable service and one of the top rated restaurants in the US are great reasons to visit St. Francis Winery. That's before we even get to the wine! This Sonoma county stalwart has been producing wine since the late 1970's. The consistency of their fruit driven Sonoma county wines is legendary. They farm over 400 acres of sustainable vineyards and produce a wide range of varietals.
The views from the tasting room are epic. This is a great place to linger as you work your way through their wine tasting list!

Finally, our tour stops at the Mediterranean villa of White Oak Vineyard and Winery. Just five minutes from the quaint wine country town of Healdsburg, this seven-acre oasis is the perfect place to end your day. The owners encourage you to picnic on the lawn after you enjoy sampling six of their wines.
White Oak produces a number of high-end varietal wines from their massive 700 acres of vineyards. The vineyards are located in the Alexander Valley, Napa Valley, and Russian River Valley. This allows White Oak to produce a wide range of varietals from different climates.
