Wine Society Wine Club Review
One thing that a good wine club needs is a hook that sets them apart from their competitors. It can be the quality of the wine, the uniqueness of the varietals or it can be an overall aesthetic and vibe. Wine Society stands out for its beauty and simplicity. The minimalist approach to wine and design has created a memorable and thoroughly enjoyable wine club brand.
Check out our interview with the founder and CEO of WineSociety here.
Wine Society chiefly focuses on selling three wine blends in cans. That might not sound revolutionary at first. Canned wine has become commonplace in wine stores and markets throughout the US. Yet, somehow, Wine Society feels different. The wine names they selected for their wine, the can design and the varietals (grape types) they use all create a memorable experience.
Each can holds 500 ML of wine. This is more or less four servings, so it’s not too far from a full bottle. The design of these cans is lovely and simplistic, easily matching the company’s philosophy of keeping things simple a just focusing on their three blends, without any side-products or merchandise.
Wine Society’s canned wine blends are made in the vineyards of California. The club offers three different standard choices. First up is a red they named Tempt, a blend of Syrah, Petite Syrah and Petite Verdot. Secondly, there’s a rosé blend called Chance, made from Zinfandel, Syrah, and Barbera. Last off, they offer a lovely white called Fate, a mixture of Albarino and Chardonnay. Wine Society also offers time-limited offerings from different varietals. You can click here to see what they are currently offering. Each can is capable of lasting from fifteen to eighteen months, which leaves you with more than enough time to properly try them out.
Prices and Shipping
We suggest you start things off with the Wine Society trio pack consisting of the standard three blends costing $49. If you love the wine, consider a quarterly shipment from Wine Society. You’ll be billed $99 quarterly for the nine pack club shipment, which can either be a mixture of all wine blends or just one. It's up to you. The retail price for their Premium Variety Pack is $132, so you save 25% by signing up for regular deliveries. This is a reasonable price when you compare it to other top wine clubs with quality wine.
Unfortunately, Wine Society only ships in the USA as of the writing of this review. Please check their website to see if they have expanded their shipping options.
Simplicity permeates every aspect of Wine Society. The clean and easy to use website is a great example of this. You can easily sign up for your quarterly deliveries, manage your billing information, and communicate with Wine Society staff through their contact form.
You’re able to change your wine selection or pause at any time. That is, as long as your next order hasn’t been shipped yet. The shipping is included, which is always a plus in our book.
