About This Winery
+ More
Black Stallion Winery is located in the southern half of the Napa Valley, in the Oak Knoll District. The name Black Stallion pays homage to the rich history of the estate which once was home to the Silverado Horsemans’ Center. After more than two years of construction, Black Stallion Winery opened in 2007. The indoor riding track of the equestrian center now houses winemaking production but architechural remains of the 36 horse stalls are still visible today. Appropriately, there is a ornate black stallion statue at the entrance of the winery, to welcome guest and mascot the heritage of this estate. In 2010, the winery was purchased by the Indelicato Family, one of the leading family-owned wine producers in the country with the third generation active in continuing the tradition of producing fine wines.
Black Stallion Winery has a very small production capacity so their cherished wines are available only at the winery. They specialize in Cabernet Sauvignon but also produce other varietals such as Merlot, Syrah, Pinot Grigio, and Chardonnay.
Located on the Silverado Trail, the Black Stallion estate recalls the rustic charm of early California. The estate property is framed by century-old olive trees and landscaped with natural grasses and Mediterranean plants. Guests can sample Black Stallion Winery wines around a large circular tasting bar or relax on the terrace aside two trickling fountains. The hospitality center is equipped with two private tasting rooms and a private lounge for their club members. The winery offers an array of private event opportunities, including private tours and tastings, lunches and dinners. Black Stallion has many public special events at the winery as well.
