About This Winery
+ More
Conn Creek makes small quantities of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and their specially blended “Anthology.” Conn Creek Winery takes its name from the creek that runs near the Rutherford Crossroads, not far from the winery site. The winery operation is owned by Ste. Michelle Wine Estates, and actually has two separate teams of winemakers on site producing both Conn Creek wines and those of their sister winery, Villa Mt. Eden. Both winerys’ offerings are available to taste at the Conn Creek tasting room.
The winery features a Mediterranean-style building, a picturesque garden and a newly expanded barrel room. The tasting room and gift shop is spacious, with its tile floors, oriental rugs, chandeliers and granite-topped tasting bars. There is a large variety of gifts for sale in the tasting room as well.
The winery is known for its Bordeaux-style blends, making rich, food-friendly wines that are still bold and complex. The fruit is sourced from a number of Napa Valley growers, allowing the winemaker to create vineyard-designated wines as well as vineyard blends. Their flagship “Anthology” is a classic Bordeaux blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Malbec, and a bit of Petite Verdot. It is blended from 23 separate vineyard lots, then barrel-aged for 28 months in equal parts new and one-year-old French oak.
