About This Winery
Why should you visit Dilecta Wines in Paso Robles?
Orion Stang grew up in Paso Robles. His parents would often take him on their picnic/wine tasting trips at the local wineries. These early experiences in Paso Robles wine country inspired him to become a sommelier. His work as a wine expert then led him to the restaurants of Southern California where his wine knowledge and love for the juice grew. At some point, he was hired at Booker Winery, and he realized that it was time to take his wine experience to the next level. He opened his own winery, Dilecta Wines, in 2011. The idea of the winery was to source grapes from some of the best Central Coast wineries.
Even more recently, he opened a beautiful tasting room for his wines. The room is on Vineyard Drive and is surrounded by rock gardens. Just pass the blue sign with the wild woman made of plants. The building itself is a warm burgundy color and overlooks plains of vineyards. You can sip your wine and gaze out of the tasting room window onto perfectly framed grape vines.
The tasting room has friendly and knowledgeable staff and even has a charming host dog named Able. The whole affair is cozy and pleasant, with spray-painted hearts and labels decorating the walls and a porch sporting wooden lawn chairs. And the wines get rave reviews!
The tasting room was a true family affair. His mother and father played roles in the design and decoration of this unique tasting space. They helped create the perfect vibe for relaxing and enjoying great Paso Robles’ wine.
Orion Stang is all about the wine culture of Paso Robles, and we think you will enjoy the outcome of that wine culture.
