Why should you visit Luna Vineyards?
On the eastern hillside of the Silverado Trail in Napa, there are rows of Pinot Grigio and Sangiovese grape vines. If you follow emerald beauties, you will eventually find a mission-style building sporting wide open verandahs and adobe walls. This is Luna Vineyards, where they make wines that respect and reflect the terroir of Napa County. They never till their land, and they use only sustainable means. They even pick their grapes in the cool of the evening to better preserve the grapes for the crush. They firmly believe that Napa grapes deserve this special treatment, and they love to share this with visitors.
Luna Vineyards is particularly keen to share what they consider the ultimate collaboration: wine and food. You can take in their Group Tasting that features 5 wines and hors d’oervres that are lovingly prepared by the Estate Chef, Mercedes Stahlberger, from local and seasonal ingredients. She can also prepare you a spread of cheese, charcuterie, and home-made focaccia, nuts, and fruit preserve when you come for the Wine and Antipasti Pairing. These pairings require an advance reservation because the food is made fresh.
Then again, you may simply want wine. Luna Vineyards invites you to relax in their Tasting Lounge or their sunny front porch and sample their specialized flights. These are the Signature Tasting, which is 5 current releases, Bianca Tasting, which showcases their whites, or Reserve Tasting, which focuses on their limited-production Napa Valley wines. Their luxurious tile floors, charming exposed wooden beams, and leather cushioned chairs will provide a suitable environment for sipping their sweet wines. You can choose from their premier Sparkling wine to their award winning 2015 Pinot Grigio Reserve. Some of their wines, the Luna Black labels, are only available online or at the winery, too, so all your tastings are exclusive.
Luna Vineyards believes in the grapes of Napa County. Once you have experienced their winery, you will believe in them, too.
