About This Winery
+ More
Presidio Vineyard and Winery produces handcrafted premium wine from certified organic grapes grown on their Presidio Vineyard located west of the Santa Rita Hills near Lompoc, California.
The vineyard uses organic and biodynamic methods of grape cultivation. Their vines are planted in tight European style spacing of 3’x7′ with over 2000 vines planted per acre. (Traditional California vineyards use 8’x10′ spacing.) This increased planting density along with their “Guyot Simple” trellising system has produced some exceptional fruit from this cool growing area. See video at VineStories.
The wines are made with minimal intervention and mostly produces wines that have been unfined and unfiltered allowing more of the natural flavors to show in the wine. The produce Pinot Noir, Syrah, Chardonnay, Sangiovese, Viognier, Gewurztraminer, Pinot Gris and an Amador County port.
