The climate of Mendocino is moderate on the coast and warm inland. Summers can be hot and winters are mild with considerable precipitation. Average annual rainfall ranges from 32 inches in Ukiah and over 40 inches in nearby Redwood Valley, with the majority falling between November and April. Temperatures range from an average of 35 degrees minimum in January to an average maximum high of 92 degrees in July. Humidity is moderate to high year round. Prevailing winds are west to southwest at 11 mph average. Mendocino County wineries can be visited year round though most interesting at harvest.
