At  Stanger, they wait up to 4 years after bottling to release wine at the proper time. Major wine critics have stated that these wines will peak in 7 to 9 years. Therefore the STANGER Reserve wines are released after they have sufficiently matured in the bottle.

The wine is made from grapes grown in a perfect place – a place in which the perfect harmony of soil and nutrients has evolved over 65 million years. That place, STANGER Vineyard at the Journey’s End Ranch, situated on the west side of Paso Robles in the Templeton Gap micro climate is ideally suited for premium wine grapes.

Stanger shares the tasting room with Poalillo Vineyards on Vineyard Drive. The cozy and stylish space is made from reclaimed wood salvaged from an old barn on the property. Stanger will pour their richly flavored Cabernet Sauvignon, Tempranillo, Syrah and the Stanger Bench Cuvee blend.

The STANGER Vineyard is a small 9.5 acre portion of the 178 acre “J” Ranch.  This Westside location has everything a quality wine grape would want: soil, water and climate.  The high ridge elevation of 1,500 ft. is almost immune to early or late frosts that damage grape vines in the lower areas.
