Roger Roessler Winery

Sonoma is an idyllic vacation town, with many charming streets where you can find pleasant niche activities. One of the nicest of these is Roger Roessler Winery. You will find this long, low-slung ranch house in between two other businesses on Broadway, not far from Sonoma City Park and City Hall. This may seem like a strange place to put a tasting room. Broadway is one of Sonoma’s main roads, but it gives guests the best views.

Roger Roessler offers outdoor seating in front. You can sit under their lovely red awning and people watch in their black wicker chairs. If you would rather see the action inside, the black marble bar and yellow walls give a great backdrop to their signature wines and the sophisticated air. The Roessler brothers, who founded the winery 15 years ago, have a selection of Pinot Noirs, Rhone varietals, and vineyard specific wines that come from vineyards all along the coast. Their passion is the Pinot Noir, and they like them with plenty of concentration. While you are there, definitely try the Signature Series, since these are the tasting room specialties, and the owners making these in small lots with extra care.
