Cairdean Estate

A mere 2 miles from downtown St. Helena stands an elegant estate and vineyard called Cairdean Estate. It is situated around three old growth oak trees and surrounded by an artistically wrought metal trellis, and the green living roof melds in with the surrounding greenery. This complements the stone and stucco building surprisingly well, and the visitor will be immediately entranced by the winery’s artistic touch.

You don’t have to stop at the scenery, however. If you walk through the lovely rows of grapevines to the center of the vineyard, you will find a tasting room decorated in dark leather chairs and couches and brass fittings. The bar is a polished concrete, which makes it a suitable place to quaff their wines such as their sparkling, floral Riesling, Leannan. They change their tasting menus regularly so you can pair your cheeses and wines at repeated visits without boredom.

If you are interested in a more exclusive tasting experience, you can visit the Wine makers Den. The winery describes the space as “Winemaker’s Den
Rich textures and a note of masculine elegance characterizes this a clubby private tasting room clad in reclaimed wood. Furnishings include a table with black marble top and brass base, leather club chairs, an elegant chandelier constructed out of wine bottles and a stone fireplace. Cairdean Estate also offers you the chance to visit the Brasswood bar and bakery where they serve such delicacies as oysters and kale salad. Here, the oak paneling and leather baquettes will put you in a fine dining mood. You can also make a reservation to visit the Rosgale gallery. You can easily make a day of visiting this charming winery.
