How do you know if you should visit the Wine Foundry in Napa? Do you have an insatiable desire to know everything about wine making? Have you considered dabbling in the exciting world of wine-making? The Wine Foundry wants to cater to every aspect of that process. Their Napa Valley business sells best-in-class bottling, lets you sell your own wines through their e-commerce platform, and helps you make your own wine.
Mostly, though, people want to drink wine. If you come to their Napa facility, they will welcome you to sit around their metal horseshoe bar and watch the wines come into being through the wall-length windows. Nothing will be kept from you in this grandly educational experience. The Wine Foundry will let you taste not only their excellent Napa Cabernets, but their wines from Sonoma and Santa Barbara Counties as well, so you can parse the difference in a hands-on (mouths-on?) learning experience. In the ultimate modern twist, they pair their wines with cupcakes. This you can simply drop by for, too, unless you have a group of more than 6 people. You will have to get reservations for bigger groups.
The learning doesn’t end there. You can sign up for customized experiences, including a class on crafting blended wines called Blend In, their behind-the-scenes lunch and intimate tasting called The Reserves, and a lab dissecting the elements of wine flavor called the Tasting Lab. You can see their airy, modern vineyards and production facilities in intimate detail. These experiences you will have to call ahead for, but they are worth it if only for the Cabernet Sauvignon.
