Mounts Winery is located in the Dry Creek Valley. Dry Creek Valley is a mellow little section of California. A long history of farming in the lush expanse gives it an air of quaintness, and Mounts Winery fits in the rural scene like a hand in a glove. Seated on a hill that will give you a fantastic view of Dry Creek Valley, this rustic little barn is surrounded by old farm implements and is decorated in a comfortable, home-like style. The wooden porch out front and lawn chairs make this a nice place to unwind from your adventures in Wine Country.

You will have to call ahead for reservations, but, the owners, David and Lana Mounts, are always happy to talk wine with a fellow enthusiast. Their focus is on making complex wines, and they have 70 years of farming experience to bring to bear. They have 140 acres and a wine cave, and most Saturdays and weekdays, except Wednesdays and major holidays, you can ask for a tour of their down-to-Earth family estate. David and Lana work to produce small quantities here, with a definite emphasis on quality. Their Rhones, blends, Zinfandels and Malbecs come highly recommended. In sum, if you want to experience wine as it was when viticulture was a family affair, the Mounts family has a treat for you.
