Why visit Copain Wines?

Healdsburg is right at the heart of Wine Country. A person can winery-hop to their heart’s content there, and the quaint little town holds some of Sonoma County’s finest winery examples. One of these is Copain Winery.

These unassuming white ranch houses with the red tile roofs sit on top of hill that overlooks the Russian River Valley. You come up through the wooded road and find yourself looking out over a valley of vines neatly lined up that seems to march right into a row of pine trees. Beyond this are the rolling hills that Sonoma County is so famous for. You can sit on the wooden deck chairs to soak in the view, or you can enter the tasting room. This elegant room, with the white wooden walls and the comfortable black leather couches, encourages you to focus on the wine that Copain is so justly proudly of.

The Copain Wines’ staff is eager to answer your questions about the wine and make you comfortable. They will provide an array of appetizers of the local food to go with their wines. And trust us, the fine charcuterie, crusty breads, and ripe produce is sure to compliment the wine. The nuanced and elegant wines are made by Wells Guthrie, and he takes their inspiration from the Rhone Valley. However, they are firmly local. From the sustainably-grown single-vineyard Chardonnays to their Tous Ensemble Syrah, the Copain Wines are made to reflect their terroir just as much as the breath-taking view their tasting room affords. This taste of Healdsburg is well worth making the appointment.
