Why visit Mutt Lynch Winery?

Do you want a new place to take your dog? Do you think that dogs and sipping wine are a natural pairing? There is a winery on the beautiful green in Windsor that completely agrees with you. Mutt Lynch Winery is the passion of a married couple named Chris and Brenda. These two have been making wines from coastal vineyards and giving them dog-inspired names since 1995. They have hand-shake agreements with a number of growers to have blocks dedicated to growing grapes for their wine after all these years. They strive to make wines that are fruit-forward and balanced. Of course, the best way to see if they meet that goal is to go to their tasting room.

Once you step into the tasting room, you are met with a ton of dog-related souvenirs and a dog statue standing over water bowls. Your dog will find the polished concrete floor and metal bar stools with wooden seats relaxing, and you’ll find that these go great with the dark wood cupboards, marble bar tops, and pale green walls. The relaxed vibe extends to their visiting hours, as you and your pooch can drop by anytime between noon and 5 pm, although you will have to make an appointment if you want to try the Wine & Chocolate Tasting. (This is the pairing of their wine with chocolate from Healdsburg Toffee Company.) Then there is ‘Yappy Hour,’ which gives you and your dog a lovely social hour for only $10. They also do many animal-related charity events which are not only fun but are good for your soul.

If you and your dog are in Windsor and are looking for a fun place, Mutt Lynch is an excellent place to try. Their motto is ‘Dream of a leash-free world,’ and you may find yourself adopting their motto after a taste of their world.
