Tolosa Winery

Tolosa's tasting room is small, but modern and stylish. A staff member actually came out from behind the tasting bar to aid me in the self guided tour process. I was impressed to learn that everything left over from the wine pressing process is recycled. The Pinot Gris was very pleasing to the palette. The tour literature describes, "wine as a gift of nature." I find this description both refreshing and truthful.

Classy place. Nice tasting facility with an overlook onto their wine making facility. Nice selection of accessories to take home. Then there's the wine... I was particularly keen on the 2005 Late Harvest and the 2006 Viognier. Especially the viognier; it was fruity without being to sweet or tart and really, it's quite the bargain at only $20 a bottle. The winery grounds and tasting room are nice, modern but nice. And on a nice warm day the back outside area, it's a great place to hang out and taste wines with a view of the vineyards. I've had good experiences with the staff there, although on my last visit the person pouring didn't even bother to say anything about the wine, or what we were drinking; she just poured. So on this particular visit I couldn't tell you much about the wines.
