Raymond Vineyard

This is by far my favorite winery in Napa. I can't say enough about it. We tasted eight or ten wines, and they were all phenomenal. I can't recommend highly enough trying one of their specialty tastings. We did the Gold Room experience and it was a blast. Kelly, the Curator of Luxury Experiences, introduced us to the JCB line that is absolutely out of this world. Try their Pinot Noir Rose - it's beyond delicious.

I have always like Raymond wines and now that I finally got to visit their winery I like em even more. Lots to taste and choose from and after a day of tasting its nice to park myself on a stool and not have to lean into a tasting counter. Hey great Cabs here and a friendly place to visit.

Amazing tasting room full of Baccarat crystal and some really weird art. Don't miss this.
In addition to, or in spite of the spectacular tasting room, they have some great wines. The wines are served from Baccarat crystal carafes. (I have to confess I was too cheap to try their high-end wines, with a $30 tasting fee, which I assume were fabulous since there "low end" wines were very nice.) My favorite was the '12 Ben Franklin blend which was 46% Merlot. It has a deep garnet color (although the tasting room was quite dark), a fruity tart citrus flavor of grapefruit with mild tannins and a very interesting finish; the '12 Louis XIV had sweet aromas and a fantastic mouth feel and a huge berry flavor (almost jammy) with hints of chocolate and slight acidic with warm tannins. Even their low end wines are somewhat expensive.

My husband and I just spent 11 days in Napa. We visited 38 wineries. Raymond winery is the only winery we visited twice! Our first tasting was done by Amanda the tasting room manager and she was so delightful, we took a friend back the next week. Unfortunately, Amanda was not there so the experience was not the same, but the wines were just as good and we managed to purchase another bottle of their Cabernet. a full bodied, smooth and very reasonably priced. They are in the midst of a very interesting "renovation" There is some interesting art work outside that gives the place character and worth a "go see"
