The western section of High Valley Appellation is the home of High Serenity Ranch and the remarkable Brassfield Winery & Vineyard. The 2,500 acre former cattle ranch is now an impressive winery estate with a state of the art winery.
The combination of volcanic and alluvial soils combined with a myriad of microclimates permit Brassfield Estate to plant an amazing array of grapes, 19 in all, from Italian Pinot Grigio, California Zinfandel, German Gewurztraminer and Johannisberg Riesling to French classics Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir, Syrah, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, Grenache, Petite Sirah, Malbec and Mourvedre. Vineyard elevations range from 1800 feet on the valley floor up to 3000 feet in the surrounding mountains.
Consulting winemaker David Ramey’s skilled hands, transform these grapes into award winning estate-bottled wines. The wines feature forward fruit qualities that offer intense, ripe fruit characteristics balanced with good acid structure, full-bodied mouth feel, and silky tannins.
Tasting Room open daily from 10AM to 5PM. The large Visitor’s Center was built to accommodate the Tasting Room and Wine Club event rooms. A covered picnic area that is open to the public. The lovely, spacious grounds are a pleasure to stroll through. Check out their demonstration vineyard. Private vineyard, cave wine pairing tours are available by appointment for $40.
