About This Winery
+ More
The winery was started by Faye Hawes and George Gilpatrick who are dedicated to produce handcrafted, small lot, artisan wines from select vineyards across California.
Located in downtown Oxnard at Heritage Square, Rancho Ventavo Cellars tasting room is located in one of Oxnard’s oldest homes, The Scarlett House, built in 1902. From the moment you enter the tasting room you will be surrounded by old-time craftsmanship and warmth that only an old home can express. With the hardwood floors, leaded glass doors and windows, stamped tin ceilings, oak paneled walls and an inviting fireplace, your visit to Rancho Ventavo Cellars will be a memorable one.
As a "red wine" only winery, the wines feature forward fruit qualities that offer intense, ripe fruit characteristics balanced with good acid structure, full-bodied mouth feel, and silky tannins.
