Red Carpet Winery

I arrived at the converted Pismo Beach cottage on a Wednesday night and was fortunate to have live music just starting, a great local artist, Louie Ortega and his band were playing. The winemaker and owner David Addamo greeted everyone and worked the tasting bar along with his family. Many club members were there and it seemed like a Cheers atmosphere. Food was provided for those purchasing wine and a great outdoor venue under a tent with tables was setup for the music, allowing the indoor area to be still used for tasting. I hear that David occasionally sits in on the drums with his music guests!

The tasting room still retains some of the cottage feel, but is upgraded with steel bar counters and leather topped stools. The window looks out to the Palm Trees and the ocean beyond and there is a front porch area for seating if you want to take in the breeze and relax with some wine. They offer wine gifts, shirts, and other items suitable for out of towners that want to bring home something. This is also a place you can bring your own picnic and enjoy Red Carpet wine with it. The late hours and propane heaters make it very accommodating.

The two brands, Red Carpet and 50 Shades, provide a nice balance of wine making style and price. David makes wines in a California style and are ready to drink. Low acid, low sulfites make them enjoyable in the tasting room and at home. Red Carpet offers two Chardonnays, a Pinot Noir and a number of Syrah selections including a Dessert Syrah that has a nice balance of alcohol and sweetness, really something for everyone. This is the first place I have ever found complimentary K-cup coffee. A nice finish to a great experience!
