Wine Access takes pride in having a wide variety of wine choices carefully picked by their highly-acclaimed experts, including masters of wine and Napa locals. Their club is clearly a great choice if you are looking for highly-regarded wines. We even include the clubs on our list of the best wine clubs.  If you read their blog, they provide a very detailed article written by one of their experts about the process that allows them to guarantee “extraordinary wine every time”.

So, how does this wine club work? First, you are given a choice of either 4 or 6 bottles monthly.  Once you’ve decided, they’ll follow up with questions about how to customize your Wine Access Club box. You can specify how experienced you are with wine and if you’d like white wine included in your monthly packages. The club appears a bit more red wine-driven than some others out there. If you only drink white wine, there are white wine-focused clubs that may be better for you.

On the other hand, if you don’t have a problem with mostly red wines in your monthly boxes, Wine Access will kick you off with a very satisfying introductory set of wines. A big plus of being in the club is having access to videos with in-depth profiles of your shipments. They also provide detailed descriptions of the aromas and flavors each bottle offers.

Wine Access Wine Club: Prices and Shipping

Regarding prices, you’ll pay $139 for 4 bottles or $189 for 6 bottles. It’s worth noting that Wine Access promises a nice 10% discount for any purchases made at their store, as long as you’re a club member.

Shipping is free for 6 or more bottles or purchases over the $150 threshold. That said, the quality they offer comes with a slight increase in price, so you’ll have to be ready for that if you want to get your hands on their bottles of red. The boxes are delivered monthly.

The shipments arrive in nondescript brown boxes that require a signature from someone over 21. You'll find that the Wine Access wine club shipments have less razzle-dazzle than most online wine clubs. Most of the value, besides the top-notch wine, is delivered through their website.

As long as the order hasn’t begun being shipped yet, cancellations are also an option if you contact their customer service. In the cases that shipping isn’t included; Wine Access notes that it will depend on what exactly you’re getting.

Wine Access Wine Club: Customer Service

On the off chance that you’re not satisfied with any aspect of the product you get, Wine Access points out that although they don’t have a return policy set in stone, their customer service members are happy to help out on a case-by-case basis. We had an issue with shipping while conducting our Wine Access wine club review. This had nothing to do with Wine Access. We were moving between locations during the shipment period. We let Wine Access customer service know about the issue, and they resolved it the next day. We were impressed by the speed of the resolution.

The shipping generally takes from 2 to 14 days after the order has been placed, in the worst case. They don’t ship outside the United States, and you can also check their FAQ for a map pointing out which states exactly they ship to. They also make sure to point out that having someone older than 21 sign for the shipment is a must, so they suggest sending your delivery to a business address. Otherwise, the delivery can be rescheduled if you are not home to sign everything.

Aside from that, their site really is well organized and detailed for the sake of making sure none of your questions go unanswered, and some of the articles on their blog are nothing to sneeze at, either. You can definitely feel a sense of community they’ve been building, and it does end up reflecting on their content.
