Joe gave us a humorous and informative tour. He showed me special kindness since I walk with a cane, by taking me down a corridor instead of making me use the stairs. I was impressed by Joe.

When we first decided to go to Napa we knew we wanted to check out the Castle. I had heard mixed reviews about the wines themselves, but we thought we would go for the tour anyhow. I was more than impressed with the tour guides knowledge of wine in general, and the castle is amazing. More impressive than that was the wine. For those of you that don't know the same man that ownes V. Sattui owns the castle. YOU MUST TRY THE CAB!! I thought that their 2005 Cab was one of the best I have had. They have a few others worth noting; such as their reserve stock Char. but for you Cab lovers this one is a must taste!

The fee to get a tour is a little pricier than most but I would say overall worth it. The tour guide we has was great. She was very friendly and personable, she also had good knowledge about how the wine was made on site and was able to answer our questions. The tasting was nice because she explained each wine to us. My favorites were their sweet wines, the others were average for napa.

I had a very nice visit at this "castle" attraction although the wine tasting was not a very good experience for me. I didn't like it at all. It was very very noisy and crowded. The pourer never stayed with us more than 15 seconds with us at a time. It was too busy to enjoy the tasting experience. The wine was okay.

I had visited this winery twice previously and had amazing experiences with the staff and the property. However my recent trip turned me off to the point I may write this winery off for good. I brought my wife and sister who was celebrating her birthday and had never been. We were met at the gate by a person saying that if we wished to go further we would need to see the concierge but since their tours were by appointment only- never before was that the case- they would have to see if they could fit us in. When we advised the employee we were here to simply buy wine, we were told that entrance was $18 per person! My wife was told that we could simply tell the concierge what we would like to buy and they would go get it for us. BUYING WINE THERE STILL WILL NOT GET YOU IN WITHOUT PAYING $18 PER PERSON. When I asked how much the 2007 Il Barone Cabernet was, the concierge told me she would look it up. I saw clearly on the register that it said $145 only to have her look me in the face and say $155 then correc

$15 admission just to steep on the property. They wont let you share wine tastings... Impressive castle, bring the kids but don't go for the wine.
