Leoness Cellars was founded in 2003 by Mike Rennie and Gary Winder, who together have over fifty years of agriculture and grape-growing experience in the Temecula Valley. Their combined experience has led to a true understanding of growing wine grapes of the highest quality. Their grapes are concentrated, balanced, and ripe. These grapes ultimately producing wines of incredible depth and flavor.
The word Leoness means “village of dreams,” and is the inspiration behind this Leoness winery’s quest to create world wines from the finest vineyards in the Temecula Valley. Nestled in the rolling hills and vineyards of Temecula’s wine country, Leoness Cellars offers a warm, enchanting setting where visitors can enjoy great wines, spectacular views, and wonderful times with family and friends.
The winery produces Viognier, Syrah, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, White Merlot, Muscat Canelli, and Cinsault Port, as well as small lots of other specially selected varietals. Leoness’ wines are carefully crafted to preserve the subtle flavors and nuances of the varietal.
Their red wines, along with the Chardonnay, are aged for an extended period of time in a combination of small French and American oak barrels, adding softness and complexity to the wines, while their white wines are fermented slowly at cool temperatures, helping the wines to retain the fresh fruit flavors of the grape.
Leoness winery invites visitors to come enjoy the charming and dramatic vineyard views at their Tasting Room. They also have a winery tour available, or if preferred, a simple tasting where guests can experience the wines that represent Leoness’ passion and commitment to winemaking.
