Alexander & Wayne Winery Tasting Room | Los Olivos

Once known as Los Olivos Vintners, Alexander & Wayne Winery produces wines from the Burgundy and Bordeaux regions of France, plus some sweet offerings and a Port. The winery produces many wines in limited quantities; some bottlings are no more than 50 cases. Wines are sold almost exclusively from the tasting room and through their wine club.

The wines are made at their facility in the nearby city of Santa Maria from grapes purchased from local growers and include Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Tempranillo, Pinot Noir, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Sweet Riesling and a Botrytis Dessert Wine made from Sauvignon Blanc.

The unique thing about Alexander & Wayne Winery is the variety of wines they produce in small lots. It’s not very common for a winery that only produces a few hundred cases of wine to have such a great selection for you to choose from. They also feature some wonderful blends that are worth trying on your next visit.

Their new spacious tasting room is across the street from their original Los Olivos tasting venue that was first opened in 1992. With more room, the larger bamboo-wood tasting “island” better accommodates their many visitors. Their gift shop has gourmet items from local producers including pistachios, walnut oils, olive oils, and wine-related items.

Alexander and Wayne is a great stop on your walking tour of the downtown Los Olivos tasting rooms. This winery has a more laid back and friendly vibe than many of the newer and “fancier” tasting rooms that have popped up throughout the town. You can relax here and taste through their lineup of local wines. Make sure you visit their sister winery, Arthur Earl that is located right behind the Alexander and Wayne winery’s tasting room.

The tasting fee is very modest compared to many similar sized wineries in Santa Barbara. This is another great reason to stop by!
