About This Winery
+ More
Downtown Sonoma is lined with quaint stone storefronts. One of these inviting little shops is the Bennett Valley Cellars. You will know it by the old-fashioned hanging sign with the two bottles sitting in an ivy horse-shoe. The window seat comes out over the sidewalk and gives you a view of the wine tasting room. Wine barrel decorations and potted cacti make for an inviting setting. Waiting for you inside is a polished marble bar and low-hanging cylinder lamps. Simple leather bar stools and vases of white lilies complete the look. This comfortable modern space is the essence of the Bennett Valley Cellars. They offer classic drinks and a feeling of being a welcome guest of a family.
Bennett Valley Cellars is a family affair, founded by a 3rd generation winemaker named Emilio Zanin. Emilio was inspired to open the winery by his Italian father and grandfather’s. He purchased an estate in the historic Bennett Valley in Sonoma County. This valley is situated so perfectly for grape growing that it is now an American Viticultural Area. In this quietly lush valley, the practices that the Zanin forbears taught Emillio bore fruit. The first wine he made out the grapes there won a Gold Medal. The vineyard was purchased in 2006 and his first vintage of Pinot Noir was released in 2008.
The winery keeps the wine offerings simple. They offer two versions of Pinot Noir, two versions of Chardonnay and a sparkling wine option. The sparkling wine is made of Chardonnay mostly with some Pinot Noir and Pinot muniere grapes included in small quanitities.
You can set up private events and private tastings directly with the winery.
Come to Sonoma to witness for yourself how he has blended his family’s tradition with Wine Country’s finest viticulture.
