About This Winery
+ More
Just off Alamo Pintado south of Los Olivos is Buttonwood Farm, home to Buttonwood Winery and Vineyard. Originally a horse ranch, it later became a farm, growing peaches, pomegranates, and almonds. In 1983 wine grapes were added to the mix, with the focus on Bordeaux varieties, including Sauvignon Blanc and Merlot.
The bright sunny tasting area is set among natural gardens and adjacent to the orchards. Tastings are seated and outdoors and guests are invited to bring their own picnic and well-behaved dogs on leash are allowed. The wines are poured seasonally and include Sauvignon Blancs (including a hopped Sauvignon Blanc!), Grenache Blanc, Rosés, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Malbec, and other estate-grown blends. Tasting appointments are limited and reservations requested.
