About This Winery
+ More
The Cimarone Winery is located on Three Creek Vineyard in the Happy Canyon AVA of Santa Barbara. Their goal is to produce handcrafted high-quality wines under their two labels – Cimarone and 3CV – with an emphasis on Bordeaux and Rhone varietals. To make great wine, Cimarone needs great farming, which they get from the pre-eminent Coastal Vineyard Care. Renowned wine maker Andrew Murray embodies their goal of making thoughtfully constructed serious wines.
Cimarone and 3CV wines are handcrafted from estate grapes grown on Three Creek Vineyard. While many older Santa Ynez wineries are focused on Rhone and Burgundy varieties, Cimarone is intensely dedicated to grapes hailing from Bordeaux (Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, Malbec and Sauvignon Blanc). The Happy Canyon climate and terroir is ideally suited for the grapes optimal growth, mirroring geologic and temperate elements of Napa and Bordeaux. Cimarone also features a lovely Sangiovese because the feisty Italian varietals love the terroir as well.
Maybe you’re wine tasting in Santa Ynez Wine Country for the first time, or perhaps you’re a veteran Santa Ynez wine tasting aficionado. Either way the winery’s new Los Olivos tasting room has something unique to offer. Cimarone is the first (and only) Happy Canyon winery to open a tasting room in the charming town of Los Olivos.
