About This Winery
+ More
Once off the road, you will go up a hill and pass a small vineyard and olive orchard before you see the outbuildings of Falcon Nest Winery. As the name implies, a number of falcons nest on the property, starting late fall through early spring.
After you pass the old barn structure, a large chicken pen and another outbuilding, you will at last come to the small house that is the tasting room. Inside the simple and comfortable quarters a wine bar is set up on used wine barrels. One of the owners will most likely be there to serve you. Further back in the room are tables and chairs leading outside to a new patio. An assortment of homemade pasta sauces, salsas, & other goodies line the shelves. Fresh eggs are for sale, as are fresh vegetables when in season.
The wines are made from a meticulously managed estate vineyard. All grapes are hand harvested and fermented in small lots of 3000 gallons. The wines will spend time in oak barrels for aging before release. Wines include Zinfandel, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot.
