Giornata Winery

If you like the balance and acidity of Italian wines, but want to drink local, Giornata Winery is for you. Owners Brian and Stephanie Terrizi specialize in growing Italian grapes and making them into Italian wines right here in California. They take grapes from 8 small vineyards, which are lovingly tended individually, respected for their unique slope and soil qualities. One of the 8, Luna Matta Vineyard is certified organic. All 8 are local to Paso Robles AVA and get all the benefits of that beautiful countryside. You can get a tour by booking an appointment ahead of time.

If you just want to taste the wine, you are in luck. They have a charming little tasting room in Paso Robles’ very own Tin City. Situated near many other tasting rooms, they have a refined space with a polished bar. You have to make an appointment, but it is well worth the effort. Their Aglianico is intense and fresh, with many layers of earthy notes. Their Il Campo Bianco is also superb, and they have a handful of other bold blends that people rave about. When you are in the tasting room, Stephanie is sure to answer any questions you might have and make you very welcome.
