So why visit Horse & Plow Winery?

In July of 2016, Suzanne Hagins and Chris Condos raised a barn in charming Sebastopol. This barn is where they host tastings of their organic wine and cider. Here, your whole family, including the dog, can get in touch with nature by picnicking on their 2 acres of organic gardens and orchards. You can start on the porch, which is sheltered by a red roof against hot days and drizzles. There are tables with umbrellas outside as well, but the indoor ambiance in the dark wood barn is so relaxed you might want to stay inside. You will find it as natural as the wines themselves.

This is a simple extension of their desire to produce and share quality organic grapes with their fans. Suzanne and Chris have been combining their old-world belief in terroir and new world sustainability practices to create complex wines that are certified organic. They will not add anything to their wines that does not belong: there are no synthetic nutrients or additives. They have been dedicated to working with organic growers since 2008 in their winery in Santa Rosa.

Their wines are also vegan as they don’t use animal proteins in the fining process. This is where winemakers remove the cloudy sediment from the wine before bottling. This is another unique feature that makes Horse & Plow worth a visit. They feature some harder to find varietals like Grenache, Cabernet Fran, and Pinot Gris along with more widely known varietals.
