Inman Family Wines is located at the oak-shaded juncture where Piner and Olivet Road meet on the outskirts of Santa Rosa, Inman Family Winery seems modest and rustic. The low profile of the farmhouse and its sunny yellow interior look restrained and elegant. The Inman Family Winery, however, is living a big dream. Katherine Inman, the owner, grew up farming in this valley, and her passion is for making wines imbued with her devotion to sustainable agriculture and a love of the land. You can see it in the pergolas that prop up her organic crops, the barn cats that provide her all-natural pest control, and the tall mustard plants blanketing her vineyards.

Inman Family wines is also focused on natural winemaking techniques. This non interventionist approach allows their Pinots to express the best of the Russian River terroir. They lean toward a old world style of winemaking by harvesting their grapes earlier than most. This leads to more acidity and lower alcohol levels.

She even rents out the vineyard farmhouse overnight to let people truly soak in the refreshing ambiance. You’ll enjoy a traditional kitchen garden, an orchard, and a free recharge of your electrical vehicle.

If you want a tour of this estate, Katherine Inman can make an appointment for a small fee of $35 per person. It is well worth it to see the swaying golden poppies spilling around the organic farm and the bluebirds pecking for insects. You can also make an appointment for the tasting room. Available times are Thursday through Monday at 11 am, 12:30 pm, or 2 pm. For only $20, the tasting will introduce you to their beloved OGV Estate Pinot Noir and their fruity and fresh Russian River Valley Chardonnay.
