Healdsburg is a gold mine of tasting rooms and wineries, but JCB Tasting Salon stands out for pure boldness. Situated just off the charming Healdsburg plaza, it’s an outlet of Jean-Charles Boisset, a man who grew up in the wine-centric world of Burgundy and came to head a family winery that takes generations of experience and combines it with wine grapes from the best vineyards in the world to make luxurious wines. The salon serves an array of these wines, including bold sparkling wines and fruity Rosés. And these wines come in bottles as beautiful as the city itself.

You can simply order these wines online, but the tasting space in Healdsburg gives the experience of imbibing them an extra dimension. The salon decorations alone are startling in their boldness. It features a gold tree smack dab in the middle of the room, draperies made to look like peacock feathers, leopard print coverings, and emerald green velour couches.  Luxury objets’d art and glassware graces the wall and tables. A glass table full of gold paper provides extra seating. They even have a stuffed peacock at the entrance. Tasting flights and fees will vary with availability and is served independently of individual wine sales, so each visit is unique. They have a backroom too. JCB believes in being extravagant and does not stint on that belief.
