About This Winery
+ More
Kiamie Wine Cellars is a collaboration between three guys with diverse yet complementary backgrounds. Winemaker Steve Glossner has as much or more experience working with Westside Paso Robles fruit as/than anybody in the game. General Manager Aram Deirmenjian’s family has been farming grapes in California for 30 years. Greg Johnson has over a decades’ experience retailing wine in one of New York’s top wine shops.
In 2009 Kiamie Wine Cellars opened a tasting room in the heart of downtown Paso Robles in the Historic Granary Building on Riverside Avenue. The Granary was built in 1890 and sold to the Sperry Milling Co. in 1891 and was used for flour production and storage. A steam generator provided power to the mill and served as the first electric power plant in Paso Robles. The neat new space has exposed wood beams, original brick walls and a sleek tasting bar.
Kiame sources grapes from a number of west side ranches including, Beckwith Vineyard, DeBro Vineyard, Derby Vineyard (the old Rosette Vineyard), Halter Ranch Vineyard, Lock Vineyard, Rolph Family Vineyard, and Terra Bella Vineyard. The wines are produced in small 2 to 5 ton fermentors using whole berry fermentation. They make a number of white and red blends that can be further aged for future enjoyment.
