Lone Grape Winery

Located in the old Vino Piazza, now called the Tuscan Wine Village. The village is an old warehouse area with a number of store fronts which serve as incubators for new wine makers and others including a planned micro brewery.

Many wineries have graduated to having their own tasting rooms in Lodi.

Lone Grape is owned by the fellow who owns Tuscan Winery Village. His tasting room is dark but comfortable, with some tasting tables and chairs. We stood at the tasting bar. He has a good selection of wines.

The ’12 Barbera had a nice flavor of currants with a mild cherry finish - it was quite nice.
I really liked the ’13 Merlot which had a pretty garnet color, it was worm with cherry, raspberry and black pepper flavor with slight tannins. It had a nice feel.

Overall we tasted nine wines! Quiet a section for a small winery. We were not charged a tasting fee. Wine prices were reasonable.
