+ More
Wine, food, family, and fun is the philosophy at Morovino in Avila Beach, near San Luis Obispo. With the popular beach less than a block away, the mood is relaxed and fun, the venue is hip and the wine is divine. Owners David and Andrea Bradford work in the tasting room regularly and are happy to share their love for and knowledge of their limited-production Italian-style wines.
Morovino’s tasting flight is usually between 5 and 7 wines and their love of Italian varietals is evident. The flight usually includes one or two Pinot Grigios, Sangiovese, Barbera, Dolcetto, and Riesling with a scattering of more recognized grapes like Syrah and Petit Sirah thrown in. Numerous ribbons and awards, including a Double Gold Medal at the International Women’s Wine Competition and a Double Gold Medal at the San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition, point to the popularity of Morovino’s style with judges as well as consumers.
Morovino’s wine style is for crisp and fruity whites and dense, velvety reds. Wines are easy on the palate and created to be very food-friendly. Visit the tasting room on any given weekend and David and Andrea will delight in sharing food pairings and recipes with you. Take a bottle of Morovino wine out to dinner and most of Avila’s restaurants will waive their corkage fees.
The Morovino tasting room has a relaxed beach feel with abundant barstools and a comfortable living room-style wine lounge. Guests enjoy relaxing in the wine lounge or enjoying wine by the taste, glass or bottle on the sunny patio just steps from the Avila Pier.
AVILA BEACH, CA – Gaining popularity as one of the Central Coast’s most idyllic beaches, Avila is also home to eight family-owned and operated wine venues: The Avila Wine Trail.
