About This Winery
+ More
Ventura County’s only rural Winery, Old Creek Ranch Winery, is located in Ojai Valley between Ventura and Ojai, and just 90 minutes north of downtown Los Angeles. Owned by the Holguin Family purchased the Ranch in June 2015, they have undertaken extensive renovations on the property by building a new tasting room and expanding outdoor guest & picnic areas with meandering pathways, handcrafted wooden lounge chairs & couches, fire pits and landscaping. Other improvements include construction of a maintenance barn, fruit stand, BBQ & catering areas, and a larger, paved parking lot. While renovations have been extensive, it was important to the Family to maintain the rustic ranch charm so many customers were familiar with and have enjoyed over the past 30+ years the Ranch has been home to a winery. It is still a great place to bring a picnic and enjoy a bottle of wine with family and friends in the rustic, tranquil ambiance of the Ranch nestled against the mountains. Additionally, for the first time in nearly 20 years, the Ranch will have vineyards with plans to initially plant eight acres of vines this year and eventually having as many as 40 acres of vines on the property.
Regular opening hours will be Wednesday-Friday, 11 am to 4 pm; Saturday-Sunday, 11 am to 5 pm., 10024 Old Creek Road, Ventura, CA, (805) 649-4132 www.oldcreekranch.com, @oldcreekranchwinery.

Winemaker Bio:
Winemaker Jeremy Leffert relocated to California after completing his bachelor’s degree in Environmental Studies with a focus in Natural History from the University of Vermont. Soon after moving to Santa Barbara, California, Jeremy discovered wine and felt particularly drawn to vineyards. Upon discovering Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo, he met Dr. Keith Patterson and immediately applied and enrolled in a Master’s program in Crop Science with a focus in Viticulture. Jeremy’s passion exceeded his desire to learn as he strove to perfect his viticultural knowledge and abilities under the mentorship of Dr. Patterson. Jeremy started his winemaking journey in the cellar at Four Vines and was the winemaker for Hearst Ranch Winery from its inception in 2009 to 2014. Following his role as Director of Winemaking at The Workshop, he started and grew a winemaking consultation business which led him to his position at Old Creek Ranch Winery. With a physically and technically demanding mindset, the resultant wines are the outcome of a discerning winemaker respecting nature’s intent. When he isn’t making wine, Jeremy enjoys playing his guitar and resides with his wife, Melissa, in San Luis Obispo.
