ONX Wines

ONX Winery always strives for the pinnacle of creativity. Their city tasting room is in Tin City, but their room is modern and airy, sporting a shaded patio where you can take in the clean lines and brilliant hues of the surrounding city. The view is stunning, a mix of the traditional and the modern, and so is the rest of the tasting room. Their modern artworks complement their bar made of reclaimed wood. They particularly like to innovate with their wines. ONX serves fruity blends such as AVAtrix, a syrah and Grenache mix, and their sold-out Field Day, a citrusy mix of sauvignon blanc, viognier and Grenache blanc. Creative wines and refreshing views all come together in this winery.

And where does the creativity all start? It stars in the vineyard on the ONX Estate. Here, on these 122 acres in the middle of the Templeton Gap, you can feel the coastal breezes, sample innovative wine blends and learn about the magic of winemaking. ONX winery graciously offers tours of their vineyards on Fridays and Saturdays. These tours last an hour and start at 10 am, 11:30 am, and 3 pm. You need to call ahead to make an appointment, but the tours are $15 and worth far more. Come sit under the oak trees and watch these stands of tradition and innovation meld together in one beautiful place.

If you are visiting the Tin City location, make sure you check out some of the other tasting rooms nearby. Call ahead and make reservations as some of the tasting rooms aren’t open to the public all the time. This area is great for walking between tasting rooms. There is a brewery and distillery nearby if you want a break from wine.
