About This Winery
+ More
Orfila Vineyards is a 70 acre estate that grows 40 acres of premium wine grapes in the San Pasqual Valley. It is located within a 10,000 acre agricultural preserve owned by the City of San Diego. Grapes have been grown and wine has been produced at the vineyard since 1973.
The views from just outside the tasting room are spectacular. There is a picnic area and grape arbor that provide a perfect spot to sit and sip your wine. You can also purchase snacks from the tasting room to enjoy with your wine.
The tasting room is inside a large warehouse type structure. The tasting counter is set up to handle large crowds with serving areas on four sides.
The vineyards are planted with mostly Rhone varietals that grow well in the temperate San Diego climate.
There is a unique area that is dedicated to the former owner of the winery. It has historical photos of him with past Presidents, Popes and other famous people. It’s cool to check out.
There are two tasting rooms with their own respective gift shops. The tasting room in Escondido is on the estate and has hours 10am to 6pm. The second tasting room is in Julian at: 4470 Hwy 78, Julian, CA. It is open 10am to 5pm. Call 760.765.0102 for more information.
