About This Winery
+ More
In June of 2004, Shannon Ridge Winery opened its renovated tasting room facility in a historic one room school house on Highway 20 in Clearlake Oaks. Adjacent to the tasting room, there is a recently completed demonstration "vinegarden" and picnic area allowing visitors to relax in a park like setting.
The winemakeing and grape growing team at Shannon Ridge is committed to ethical business practices. The ranch uses sustainable farming methods including minimal use of pesticides, using organic methods whenever possible and generally leaving a small carbon footprint. (Weed control is handled by a affable flock of 60 sheep.)
The extensive Shannon Ridge Vineyards are planted high in the mountains with a dramatic view overlooking Clear Lake. At altitudes of 2,000 to 2,400 feet, the vineyards cling to brick-red soils producing excellent quality fruit. The winery produces a wide range of excellent, estate grown wines including, Chardonnay, Zinfandel, Barbera, Syrah, Roussanne, and Viognier.
