Soaring Hawk Vineyard

At Soaring Hawk Vineyard, Joe and Jill work to makes a mere 350 cases of wine, but each case is a labor of love. The serenity this creates spreads over this oak-laden beauty spot like fall leaves, pervading the winery. You’ll feel it even out on the road. It sits a short distance from Downtown Santa Margarita, but Vista del Lago twists around lush, hilly countryside until you have reached the cheery wooden building. The vineyard and area around the patio sports craggy trees dripping lichen, and wildlife flits around the trees. You will find a flagstone porch sporting tables made out of wine barrels, and once you are past that you are in for the warmest hospitality available.

Plaid tablecloths and striped walls match the laid-back owners, who will take their time to talk wine with you while you taste their works. You can try their wine and cheese pairing and the picnic area as well. Jill and Joe will take you through every aspect of wine tasting so you can thoroughly enjoy the wine experience. To top it all off, their website has recipes they freely share that you can pair with their wine at home whenever you want to remember this friendly little place. You do have to book ahead of time to have this experience, but you can frequently book the same day that you want to get in. Joe and Jill are very accommodating that way; they even allow drop-by visitors during the Paso Robles Wine Festival weekends. They just love wine and are itching to share their love with you.

The winery focuses on Rhone Varietals and the classic California varietal, zinfandel. This is a great place to taste if you want to spend time with and learn from the winemaker.
