About This Winery
+ More
The name Summerland Winery conjures up visions of warm relaxed days at the beach with plenty of time and few responsibilities. As you sit in the storefront tasting room at the Summerland Winery sipping a classic Pinot Noir, you can easily slip into this decadent and hedonistic reverie. And why not?
Just a few miles south of Santa Barbara, located on the main drag in the little beachfront town of Summerland, is the tasting room home of the Summerland Winery Boutique. Look for the two storied building that shares space with art and antique shops. It has bright white pillars and a flagpole out in front. Enter and take a seat at their antique tasting bar, or comfy couch. You can feel the beach air while you peruse their extensive list or browse their gourmet gift shop. The fruit is sourced from a number of the finest vineyards in the central coast area including Bien Nacido, Wolff, Fiddlestix, Santa Rita Hills and Edna Valley. The wine making is done at a custom crush facility in Santa Barbara County by Summerland’s Belgian-born winemaker, Etienne Terlinden.

Pinot Noir gets top billing here with 11 different bottlings from the same vintage year. The vineyard-designated wines give you the chance to taste the subtle differences of how the soil, climate, trellising, and clone selection affect the resulting wine. Also made are a full range of Bordeaux varietals and those from the Rhone Valley. Try their rich French Camp Zinfandel or take in the sweet Orange Muscat and enjoy the Summerland experience.
This winery loves dogs. You can bring your pooch along to the tasting room. Your dog may end up on their website. Many of the adorable dogs that visit Summerland are posted on the site.
The winery offers music on Friday nights. This is a fun place to relax and enjoy wine by the glass after a long week.
