About This Winery
+ More
Vihuela can be roughly translated as a Spanish Renaissance Guitar, which is the image on the label of this limited production boutique winery. Owner Mike Viheula focuses on Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, and unique Spanish style blends.
The storefront tasting room is close to the Paso Robles downtown square in its own little alley back behind the specialty shops that front Park Street. The tasting room shares an interior patio with a casual restaurant where musical events take place.
The room itself in warm and inviting with reinforced red brick walls adorned with local art work that changes every 60 days. There is a 1920’s wine press, antique tables and items from when Jessie James once made the Paso Robles area his hideout.
Wines are made in a bold “Roja” style in the Spanish tradition. Rich and flavorful, robust and red. Mr. Vihuela currently focuses on Bordeaux style wines and it is said that "ladies who swoon over his wines, declare that they’re tall, dark and tasty!"
