+ More
Vina Robles crafts wines that represent a stylistic bridge between the Old and New worlds, capturing the finesse associated with European wines while celebrating the bold natural flavors of their estate vineyards in Paso Robles. Here, owner proprietor Hans Nef and managing partner Hans – R. Michel bring their Swiss heritage to California’s Central Coast, where they aim to unite the best of both experiences.
Specializing in varieties that excel in the complex soils and nuanced microclimates of Paso Robles, including Cabernet Sauvignon and Petite Sirah, Vina Robles also embraces unconventional blends as an opportunity to create wines of distinctive quality and character.
The Vina Robles winemaking approach emphasizes structure and balance, harnessing the rich Paso Robles fruit with grace and food friendliness. The resulting wines exhibit ripe flavors with polished tannins and fresh natural acidity.
The Vina Robles story begins in 1997, when the Nef family planted the first of what would become four estate vineyards in Paso Robles—Jardine, Pleasant Valley, Creston Valley and Huerhuero. Today, the cornerstone of the estate program is Huerhuero Vineyard, where the rolling oak-studded hills reach an elevation of 1,030 feet. This site boasts multidimensional growing conditions that enable us to optimize the ripening of each varietal.
A fifth vineyard, Adelaida Springs Ranch, was recently added. Here, in the rugged coastal mountains at an elevation of 1,700 feet, 12 miles from the Pacific, Vina Robles grows Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot for their award-winning Suendero blend and other Cuvée Collection wines.
Vina Robles wines are available across the United States and overseas, and can be enjoyed at their hospitality center in the heart of the Paso Robles wine country, where a variety of public and private events are hosted throughout the year, including weddings, business meetings, concerts and wine appreciation seminars.
