About This Winery
+ More
The William Hill Winery and estate is perched on a hill with an enviable view of the southern Napa Valley. The location is close to the Silverado Trail, in the Atlas Peak viticultural area. The winery and vineyards have a wonderful southern Napa Valley exposure on the Silverado Bench.
The William Hill winery is a prestigious Bordeaux producer. The winery is renowned for crafting elegant Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot wines. This is largely due to its exceptional location.
William Hill has been around for more 30 years producing richly flavored and elegant wines. Once classic in style, winemaker Ralf Holdenried has successfully transitioned the winery to a more refined and sophisticated style. He has added fruit intensity and layers of complexity. Ralf’s innovative and progressive approach to grape growing and winemaking enhances the unique style of their Napa Valley wines.
Three tiers of wines are made. The first is a Napa Valley Wine that focuses on balance and is made in a fruit forward style. The second is a Napa Valley Reserve Wine that offers more intensity. This wine also has bigger structure and bolder fruit. The third wine is exclusive to the William Hill winery. These are limited production wines available only at the winery or through their wine Club. By owning and farming their own vineyards William Hill has been able to focus the winery on small-lot production of their estate grapes.
The tasting room is pleasant. There are props like aroma wheels and scent jars that give guests the opportunity to hone their wine tasting skills. The tasting room is set in 140-acres of Estate owned vineyards and guests are encouraged to enjoy the enviable panoramic views. There is also a picnic under the arbor for you to enjoy.
The winery produces Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Petite Verdot, Chardonnay and blends. To visit William Hill winery, you must first call for an appointment.
