So what is wine gum?
You are finally slowing down for the day. It's been hectic. You really want to collapse on the couch with a glass of wine. Sadly, you are still at the office and have a long drive home.
Then you remember you have something for these occasions. You reach in your purse and pull out a wine gummy. You get all the joy of that first sip with none of the alcohol. Does this sound like a dream?
Can wine gum bring you the joy you feel when you take a sip of wine? That's what the wine gum creators set out to do. Their journey started as an attempt to recreate the sensations of drinking wine. The first attempt to capture the sensations was an immersive art experience. It was in the creation of the art installation that the Real Wine Gum idea emerged.

Wine As Art
Wine Gum founder Mireille Reuling is an artist and a wine lover. She designed the wineXperience to let people enjoy the sensations of wine without drinking it. The multi-sensory artwork tries to capture the sense of relaxation and joy that comes with your first sip of wine.
Her next goal was to capture that in an edible form. Could it be done?
Wine as Gum (or more like gummy or jelly in the US)
Can you take liquid wine and capture its essence as a solid gummy? Mirreille, Marleen Teters (her business partner), Michelin star chefs and a food research institute partnered to make this a reality. The result is a vegetarian and fruit based, non-alcoholic luxury treat.
A successful formula led to the formation of Vinoos, the makers of The Real Wine gum. The founders are very clear that this is NOT a kids candy. Parents shouldn't expect to give handfuls of Chardonnay treats on Halloween. This is an adult luxury food that will be truly appreciated by wine lovers.
The formulation was designed specifically to make this treat accessible to the widest range of adult consumers. They treats are free from gluten, artificial colors, lactose, added sugar and fat. Thus leaving no excuses for anyone to try one!
Wine Gum Flavors
You can currently enjoy wine gums in Merlot, Chardonnay and Rose flavors. This is just the beginning as the company is developing some exciting new options. They are working on a Champagne version that will include alcohol. The new formulation will be seaweed based and they are hoping to translate the sensation of bubbles into the treat.
They are also looking to broaden the offering to introducing a gin flavored treat. We can't wait to try that one!
Where Can I Buy Wine Gum?
Currently, the best place to buy The Real Wine Gum is through the company's website. If you are traveling in Europe, you may find the gum in higher end hotels and retailers. These make an excellent gift for the wine lover in your life.
