I like Eric Asimov's (a New York Times wine critic) wine suggestions, but finding his recommended wines can be challenging.
It's especially difficult for anyone who lives outside of a major city. You rarely find one of the wines he suggests in a grocery store or even in a well-stocked wine shop.
We decided to do everyone a favor and link to online wine shops where you can order these top wines.
A few critical notes first:
- Be aware that online wine shopping is quirky because of the patchwork of wine regulations across the US and gets even trickier for international shoppers.
- Pricing, delivery options, and even availability of wines can differ depending on the state you are having the wine delivered to.
- Many wines recommended by wine critics sell out fast, so you need to purchase them within a few months of the review.
- When ordering wine online, buying more than one bottle makes much more sense on a cost-per-bottle basis. It's best to order six or more unless the retailer offers a shipping discount or you sign up for a service like StewardShip at Wine.com.
